I'm trying to take a spreadsheet and present it in a way that has one row for each category of item, and then multiple cells across that row to represent the emails sent in that category. This is a calendar of sorts. Each category would be associated with a color. (That's the part I have figured out.)

I saw Smartsheet's "Event Marketing Timeline Template," and I feel like that's close to what I'm looking for. The columns would be months, subdivided by weeks. There are no dependencies.

I can't figure out how to set it up in a Gantt view without having one row per date. I want one row per category, and then multiple items across that row by date.

Does that make sense?

I'd like to be able to enter the info in the grid view, then view it in the Gantt view.

Here's the Event Marketing Timeline Template:

See my attached screen shot of how I'd like it to look.

Any advice is appreciated! I saw a Reddit from 3 years ago that said Microsoft Project was the way to do this, but I bet Smartsheet's a better option.

I have an idea for a workaround.

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? That would make it easier to help. (share too, [email protected])

Thanks so much for offering to take a look. I am not able to share the sheet outside my domain. I'm not sure how to zoom out to make the screen shots work, but I've attached them here.

Happy to help!

Sorry but I misread your question.

Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment to have a Gantt view with multiple items in one row, but it's a great idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

A possible workaround would be to use the grid view to set up something similar to your first picture instead. Would that work?
