Dynamic view filter by project type

Hello everyone,

Do you know if it is possible to filter on a specific column in dynamic view ?

I have a sheet with a list of projects, and I would like that each project type team has only access to its projects.

For example, I would like that all the users of my internal projects team can only see the list of project type internal in the project list.

Thank you very much,

Corentin,

    Hi @Corentin Dal Farra

You can create filters in Dynamic View, however these filters will work in a similar way to how sheet filters work... so if you shared that filter, the user will be able to use this to filter down data, but they'll still be able to see the original data.

You will need to do one of two things:

    • Either build out individual Dynamic Views per-project.

    OR

    • Set up a Contact Column in the source sheet that identifies the users associated with each project. Then you can use this column as the "restrict view by current user" in the first tab of the Dynamic View settings (see here).

Let me know if this makes sense!

    Cheers,

    Genevieve

    Hello @Genevieve P

    Thank you for your answer.

What I made is closed to your solution 1 I think : I created a filter by project type (internal, external, and so on) directly on the sheet.

Then I create a dynamic view for each project type, and I share the users only the view they need to have access to.

I will try with the other option that you mentionned that is called restrict view by current user also.

Thank you again, have a nice day,

    Corentin
