Allowing people to access reports without having access to the main sheet

Is there any way that I can share reports with various people and give them the ability to edit information through their report without sharing the main sheet with them? In other words, giving them write access through the report, but not allowing them to see, open, write on, or access the main sheet in any way? They don't even need to know the main data sheet exists. This would be like Write Only, No View access, and would allow me to put other sensative information on the main sheet. It would also allow me to control who accessed certain areas of the main data sheet while still being able to write on it. As I currently understand it, data coming in to a report cannot be seen by the user unless they have been given shared access to the sheet the data is coming from.

Hi Richard,

There currently isn't a way to share a report with them without also sharing the source sheets.

If they're not shared to the source sheet, they won't be able to access the info that you want them to in the report.

When you have a moment, please submit a Product Enhancement Request using the form under Quick links on the right of the community site to let our Product team know that you'd like to be able to have people edit data in a report without being shared on the source sheets.

This is also something I feel is desperately needed. I've seen it in other conversations also, so hopefully it's already on the enhancement roadmap, and coming soon!!

Yes please. This would bring tremendous value to how I manage large programs. I want to give individuals/teams limited access to a subset of the Smartsheet.

Are there really none?

This feature has been requested for years and would greatly improve the product.

Why it hasn't been implemented yet is quiet baffling to be honest.

Hi Malte,

You'd have to ask Smartsheet about how many requests have been submitted, but I know for sure that every vote counts.

Smartsheet released a Premium Add-on called Dynamic View that addresses the need to some extent, but it is an add-on.
