Any way to stop lines from being automatically added?

I'm setting up budget docs for several people, and Smartsheet automatically adds lines to every sheet. Unless the budget owner is paying attention, this will screw up one of the formulas.

Is there any way to turn this feature off?

Why does a new line screw up your formulas?

Smartsheet will add a small number of rows to ensure you have somewhere to add rows when you need them.

  • Hi Leigh—there isn't a way to prevent blank rows from being automatically added at the bottom of the sheet but I'll add your vote for this to our enhancement request list for further consideration.

The Community may be able to offer advice on how to avoid your formulas from being added if you can provide more information on the formulas and your process.

  • It doesn't mess up formulas for me, but it does still run the risk of causing issues.

We issue Job Numbers to construction projects and start a new sheet every 100 numbers. If someone doesn't know (or slips up) and adds information on a sheet instead of jumping to the new one, we can have a disconnect.

I understand the reasoning behind the rows auto-add, but I hate that it's not something you can opt out of (and it just looks bad on some of my sheets).

What about just having a button at the bottom like Google Sheets? You can type in a quantity of desired new rows and click the "Add" button and voila.

  • auto added rows dont apply the auto formula filling, so this actually its an issue, not a feature request
