Assigning Multiple Tasks to an Entire Team

Hi

I am new to Smartsheet, and hence am unable to perform the subject activity in it.

I have a set of 25 tasks called "Proofreading Tasks". And I have around 15 people in a team which is called "Team - Proofreaders" . This team is supposed to perform these -- and only these -- tasks.

Now how do I set it up in Smartsheet so that only people from "Team - Proofreaders" can perform the tasks under the task set called "Proofreading Tasks"

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Nasir,

Welcome to the Community and the wonderful world of Smartsheet!

There are many ways to structure a solution.

Will there be other tasks for other people/teams in the sheet?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

    Hope that helps!

    Have a fantastic day!

    Best,

    Hi Andree

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes there are total 5 teams the department, and each team has its own, unique set of tasks.

And I want a solution like this:

All staff members of all 5 teams should be allowed to pick tasks which were assigned exclusively to the team they are part of.

For example, if there were 2 sales teams titled BMW sales and Audi Sales, then the members of the Audi Sales team must not be able to choose "Sold BMW X5" from the Tasks drop-down list (because this task is for BMW Sales team).

    Thanks

    Happy to help!

My recommendation would be to either create one sheet per team or structure everything in one sheet separated by hierarchy.

There isn't a way to limit what the teams can select if it's on one sheet, but we could make it clear that it's not allowed/not the right team or similar.

Would one of these methods work? Which one do you prefer?

    Hope that helps!
