Attachments need to be attached to an email not linked
We would like to be able to send an email encompassing a couple of rows with attachments (Invoices). The recipient of the email needs to be able to access the invoices as attachments as a computer reads them to populate their accounting program. The computer is unable to read the invoices if they appear as links to smartsheet only.
Is there a way this can be done?

Hello Sally,
There isn't a way to change this behavior and attach the files directly to emails (they'll always be links). When you have a moment, submit your request for this enhancement via the Product Enhancement Request form under Quick links on the right of the community site.
With that being said, if you have development resources, you might consider using the API to get an attachment and attach it: https://smartsheet-platform.github.io/api-docs/#get-attachment
Otherwise, you might see if you can create invoices via a Google doc with the Smartsheet Merge integration: https://www.smartsheet.com/apps/google-docs-smartsheet-merge
