Can I sort entries in Card View?

I have a task list organized in Card View, with conditional formatting to highlight critical tasks.  Can I sort them in Card View to list the ciritical items first?

Thanks,

William

I'm actually not sure how to sort entries in Card View, but you could create a filter that only shows the crticial items. Maybe that would be more useful?

  • Hi All—

Cards can only be sorted manually at this time, since card view's display order is independent of other views. (We don't want sorting cards to cause the grid/gantt views to sort in unexpected ways.)

I'll get your vote down for a way to apply a sort to the Card view on our enhancement request list, which is reviewed by our Product team.

  • Hello Shaine,

Please add my vote as well. We use the card view as a Scrum board and being able to set a priority number in the table view and have the card view sort accordingly would be amazing!

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

Please add also our vote to apply a sort to the Card View. This would be very useful for us!

    Thanks!

  • Hi All—

Thanks for the feedback, I got your votes down as well :)

  • Please add my vote as well.  Thanks!

  • @bill—I've logged your vote down on our enhancement request list for further review by our Product team.

  • We would also need such a feature in order to properly use the Card view as a product roadmap.

Where are we at on this one?

I really think that it would be VERY useful to be able to sort your swimlanes by criteria that you choose.  Especially things like date, priority, % Complete, Harvey Ball... anything.

And, if you fear messing up the order of other things, this could be managed easily enough.  Already in the SS system you allow each card to have a 'rank' identifier.  Tie this into the requested sort parameter and then re-assign the card ranks based upon this 'rank' parameter.

  • Come on guys - Listen to your customers.  This question was first asked in October 2016!!!!!!

Card view is fantastic, but completely useless for our company if you can't sort them by date.  They seem to populate completely randomly.

I'd like to add my vote for this feature, but I'd also like to comment on the extraordinary lack of transparency and feedback on this and other feature requests.

I introduced Smartsheet to my place of work about 4 months ago and it's created quite a lot of interest. I think its generally quite good, but it is so embarrassing when people ask me questions about the obvious glaring holes in parts of its functionality and I have to reply that "somebody asked that question two years ago but the people at Smartsheet haven't commented any further".

This and other requests (particularly around the functionality of the gantt view) are not unreasonable and already exist in other products, so please people at Smartsheet start to listen to your paying customers and give more feedback on what you are or aren't doing in the background.

This is so close to being a great product, but at the moment I would not be comfortable recommending it to industry colleagues and I would be very open to trialing an alternative product when license time comes around (or simply going back to Excel, Trello & MSP).

    Hi,

Also a vote from me on this requested feature. I have a list of cards wherein few ones marked as high priority items I want to automatically go on top of list. Currently I need to do it manually and my team members are also asking me why such a thing is not possible in Smartsheet.

I do understand there can be technical complexities around this. But as one championing Smartsheet within my organization, it gets difficult to inform users that what you can do quite easily in excel or microsoft project, is not possible in Smartsheet.

Also, as Mikey pointed out in her/his post, more transparency from product features enhancement teams in Smartsheet towards community on what improvements they are working on will greatly help.

    Thanks.

  • Any update on this request?
