Can Viewers hide or filter columns that don't pertain to them?

My team has a spreadsheet that is shared internally (editing access) and externally (viewing access only).

For the external partners that use the sheet with viewing access only, is there a way for them to hide or filter to the columns that pertain to them? They need to see all of the rows, but not all of the columns.

Appreciate the help!

Have you considered creating a report? Reports will gather all the data but only the columns that you want them to see. Here is an article on Creating reports

  • Thank you, there might not be a solve because in this case the external partner is a vendor who only has viewing access and many of them do not have smart sheet accounts yet. There are too many vendors for me to create custom report views for them so this might be a "tough luck, just ignore what you don't need situation". Was hoping to please everyone though.

If your sheet has an assigned to column, then you can create one report that has Assigned To "current user" as one of the criteria.

Each of your vendors would have to have a Smartsheet login to implement this solution, however.
