Cant remove someone from a sheet / workspace

When I try to remove someone I have shared a sheet / workspace with.. it says I have reached the maximum number of sheets for my account (I have not) and I can't remove the person from the sharing.

Can anyone help with this? I have got a new assistant and I need to remove the old one.

When you have say you have not reached the maximum number of sheets do not forget that it is not only talking of Sheets but also Reports.  Reports are counted as sheets.  Also ts per licence and if you have two licences then one could be using up some of you count because they have exceeded thiers.

Irrispective of that I would have thought removing from sharing would still be enabled.

If you definatly have not reached your limit then contact support@smartsheet.com

Thanks. I figured it out, my assistant was designated as OWNER on some sheets in the workspace so when I tried to remove her smartsheet did not know what to do. Maybe they should work on the dialogue box and have it say "That user is the owner of a sheet in this space they can not be deleted until you change thier role". That would have saved me  a lot of time.

    Good Spot, well done.

  • Hello All—Just wanted to clear one thing up in this discussion:

Reports are not counted as sheets, they do not count toward your plan's sheet allotment. The allotment is only for sheets, meaning you can own and create as many reports as you wish.

I will definitely pass your feedback along to our Product team for better articulation around the workspace ownership transferring process.

  • Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it.

  • I literally just did this Tuesday with someone that left my organization.  If you delete the user in the user administration section you do get a notification asking who the sheets should be transferred to..so you can pick anyone in your shared user list.  I just chose to transfer his sheets to me and a folder with his name was automatically created and it also said "transferred sheets" in the folder name.
