Integrating non working holidays on another country

Hi fellow Smartsheeters,

I encountered this problem after entering American holidays but our operations is affected by other suppliers in other countries like China. I think many of you have been affected by week long holidays like Chinese New Year week.

Is there a way entering a certain countries holiday without making it as a holiday in America. I enter the Chinese New Year week on the settings and looks like task are move making task in America are also observing Chinese New Year but in reality Americans are still working (looks like we Americans working too much - LOL).

If there is no functionality that does this, please add on next release. Give me a buzz for me to try and test it.

Any workarounds are also welcome.

Hi D Micu,

Nonworking days and holidays can be set on the account level and the sheet level. If needed, you can add new holidays to your sheet with the steps here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/516392-defining-working-non-working-holidays-on-a-project-sheet

This currently can't be done on a row-by-row basis. If you need to track multiple country's holidays then you might consider adding an additional row to your sheet that represents the holiday, then making tasks dependent on that row.

Otherwise, you might consider splitting your tasks up into multiple sheets.

I have the same problem and I am eagerly waiting for the day where holidays can be assigned by resource.

We have projects with suppliers in multiple Asian countries who all have different holidays - and completely different than the US. They have 6-day weeks, US suppliers have 5-day weeks.

It would be so very helpful for large projects if I could assign each resource / supplier specific work days and non-work days

Hi!

Do you guys found a solution for this? i have exactly the same problem...i really would like to see represented in my timelines...Gant chart, the USA holidays, for example (just for my reference) but they would not interfere with the holidays of my country when creating my timelines...does it make sense? this would be really useful so i could track when my client would be available for reviews etc....
