Editing RTF widget content, help!

I really find the editing in the RTF widget frustrating, what's the secret?

Backspace doesn't delete, I cant select/remove spaces, lots of random behavior

How do I remove the spaces highlighted in the screenshot?

(I want it to behave just like the RTF editor I'm using to compose this message!)

Tried MS Internet Explorer and Edge, no luck they both behave strange...what works for you?

I tried it in Chrome. Can you try it in Chrome?

Chome is better, but still behaving strange (especially with a bulleted list...) was able to fix the formatting (close enough anyway)
