Row Height

Is it possible to adjust the row height? I can adjust the font size but the height dosen't change.

If you need to enlarge the row because your text is getting cut off, there's a word wrap button on the left side of the screen. Otherwise, I don't think there's any way to adjust the row height right now.

Greg is correct - the row height can not be changed directly, but you can trick it by changing the font size (to a certain degree) in a column you aren't really using (and then hide it)

    Hope this helps.

  • Has there been a fix yet to auto-fit column height and width? I think these would be extremely helpful tools to increase the aesthetic value of sheets one is working with.

  • I'd love to hear an update from Smartsheet on this thread.

  • This is quite a basic function, why was this not initially included?

I will not propose to deploy the smartsheet in the company because this detail.

  • I would love to hear a reply as well.  Very frustrating that you cannot merge cells, change row height, etc.

  • I want to use a column for the historical actions for a task.

If I copy and paste a notes into a comment it will use the date of when I created the comment not the date I created the note (usually the week before).

I can't seem to change the comment date.

At the moment I just change the row height in google sheets and it hides all the historical notes up to three lines. REALLY USEFUL!

Seems like being able to change the row height should be no harder than changing a column width. Hopefully this will be a function soon. Many thanks.

  • Still no fix or at least a response? It's weird that if you paste a large amount of text and then remove it again that the row height is just *stuck* with a lot of white space and no way to fix it.

  • Very frustrating indeed.  Missing on such a basic feature is very poor.

    Any update??
