Countifs error

Hello,

I am trying to count the number of occurrences when column1 = value1 AND in the rows that have a check box in column2.

Can anyone see why this formula is #Unparseable? When tested individually, the formulas work but together I get an error.

=COUNTIFS([column 1]:[column 1], "value 1”, [column 2]:[column 2], "1")

=COUNTIFS([Placement /Evict /Non-renew /TE]:[Placement /Evict /Non-renew /TE], "Tenant Exchange”, [MI in 7d]:[MI in 7d], "1")

First you are going to want to remove the quotes from around "1". Second... It looks like you have a "smart quote" tucked in there as well. Notice the quote after Tenant Exchange. See how it is slanted to show either an open or close quote? That's called a smart quote and will break your formula every time. See the other quotes as well as the quotes in this comment how they are straight up and down? Those aren't smart quotes and are what is needed to make a Smartsheet formula work.

Smart quotes come from programs such as Microsoft Word. The other quotes (the ones you need) come from programs such as Notepad or by typing directly in Smartsheet (or here in the Community).

Go into your formula, remove the smart quote, then retype it directly in the cell. That should fix things up for you there.
