Automation - Alert based on Date change in a column

I have a sheet with 2 dates, original ship date and current ship date. I want to send an alert when the ship date changes, but not when the info is entered for the first time. Or, to not send an alert if the ship date is the same as the original ship date. In the conditions, I can't seem to find a way to do this

How are the dates added from start?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

Thanks. So the original ship date and ship date is entered when the order is received, but the ship date can change and is updated as required. What I need is a mechanism to alert certain people when the ship date changes, as they will need to change that date in our accounting software.

You add a workflow with an alert that would trigger when the date is changed.

Thanks Andree, I added a workflow that seems to work, teh only issue is that it triggers an alert when a date is added to the cell, as well as if it is changed. I was hoping to have it only alert upon a change from when the original data is entered
