Can I change case AFTER the cell is referenced?
Hello, I have a Master sheet with hospital unit names. Some of the names are all caps, and I wanted to change that to be first letter in caps only. The words themselves would be the same. Only the case would change from capital letters to normal letters. The cells where these unit names are are referenced in formulas. Will this be a problem if I change the case? Will changing the case (but not the words themselves) break the formulas?

Upper vs lower case should not make a difference in this instance then.

It depends on the formulas/functions that you are using. For example... FIND is case sensitive, but CONTAINS is not. If you are able to provide your formula(s), then I'd be happy to take a look and let you know if they should or should not be affected by changing the case of the referenced text string(s).

Hi Paul, Thank you for your reply! I am using the text in the cell as can be seen below - I am referencing the cell in the formula where it says "=Metric37". I did that by clicking on the cell while writing the formula. I am thinking that since I did it that way - clicking on the whole cell, it shouldn't matter what case the letters are. The "=Metric37" in my case refers to a name of a hospital unit, which is written in the cell on row 37 in a column called "Metric".
