% Complete in Project Template seems to be off.
Working in a Smartsheet Project Template. I've put in my % complete info for each WSB row. The Parent % complete is reporting back 21%, while a selection of the rows shows that the average should be 19%
Does anyone have a logical explanation for this?

The reason you're seeing a different % Complete in the parent row is due to the Parent Rollup Functionality of Project sheets. The % Complete on the Parent row will calculate a weighted percentage based on both the Duration and % Complete entered on each child row.
For example, if a child task is only 1 day long and it's 100% complete, but a second child task is 50 days long and is 0% complete, then the overall Parent will take those durations into account. Instead of an inaccurate 50% complete, it would show just 2%, since the first task is such a short one.

What is the formula being used to calculate these percentages, particularly for the parent row?

I'm not relying on a formula here. The Parent Row is being auto calculated by the Project Template I'm using. I'm just placing % Complete data in the Children rows and allowing the template to auto calculate. As a matter of fact, when I try to make any changes to % Complete cell in a Parent row, I get the the following message from the platform.

Hi
I had a similar issue as the plan was showing 0 or 100 and I knew there should be a different number in the roll up.
I needed to ensure that the start and end dates were added to the plan in order for this to work.
