Email Validation in Forms

Can we validate if the entered email address is valid in Smartsheet forms? I used the contact column hoping it will validate in the content entered is an email address but no luck. Is there any other way?

Hi. Ameyaa.

There is a feature in forms designer that allows you to apply logic to the form field. The options are limited, however, to try to catch issues before the form is submitted.

On the sheet, you can combine IF() and CONTAINS() to perform limited searches on data that has been submitted.

Hi - I see from the logic that this selects a column, does it show the column header text when it hits that action?

If the form is creating a new row there will not be any text in that column/row yet.

@Toufong Vang thank you. I tried this approach. But no luck. All the logic in forms do is show or hide field. That's not really helpful. Also, one can still submit the form with incorrect information.

I believe Smartsheet has added this feature now.
