Accessing sheets from several folders of the Home tab?

In the Home tab,
how can I locate sheets in different folders or workspaces*?

For example I would like to be able to access a sheet from any folder "Geographic\USA" and "Pharma\Dermatology" because, say, it is about Dermatology for the US market.

* Workspaces have accesses attached to them so it might be difficult to locate somthg in multiple WSpaces.

    Hi Charles -

At present, having the same sheet (a link to the same sheet) appear in multiple locations/workspaces is not supported.  As you point out, since permissions are workspace dependent today, that would present challenges on the permissions front.

On a related note, in the coming months we will start development on enabling people to assign different levels of permissions to items in a workspace -- as opposed to all items sharing the identical sharing rights.

    Best Regards,

    Mark

If you are trying to locate and open a specific sheet, use the open sheet keyboard shortcut. When in the app, press  CTRL + / which will let you search for and open any sheet you own or are shared to

  • Thank you John, at least the Ctrl/ can save back and forth to the Home tab, but it does quite sort out the "multi-themes" structure I dream of.
Thank you Mark, Just pointing out, since SmSh can be smoothly connected to Googles, it is noticeable that the new version of gDrive lost the multi-folder location bit and we have to go back to the previous version when we want to locate/access one file in/from different folders. Hope you you get smarter that big G. ;-)

  • I will be fine with a Navigational Sheet, extrapolated from Kelly's http://www.smartsheet.com/blog/support-tip-create-navigational-sheet

To go back to my initial post, I simply have columns ready to get filtered:

_ "Country" column enables me to list projects related to specific countries.

_ "Medical" enables me to to do the same for "Dermatology" for instance or "Dermatology AND Cardiology"

And it is good that linked sheets do open in the window (which is not the case when you 'attach' the link URL).

Powered by cell linking, I don't need much more for a neat real-time portfolio summary Smile
