Copy Column Properties

Hi Lisa-- We don't currently offer the ability to copy columns within a sheet but I've added your vote for this to our enhancement request list. In the meantime, you would probably want to copy the dropdown list items and paste them into the column settings panel.

It might be too late for this, but here's a trick:

1. Create a sheet with the 6 columns to be added.

2. Add text to one of the columns "new row here" or something to remind you to delete it later.

Something unique is also useful like "sdfsd1!" (see below)

3. Select that row and use Copy To Another Sheet.

4. Select a project destination sheet.

(Here's the tedious part -- repeat 3 & 4 for the other 39 sheets)

The columns (with Type) will be copied to each sheet.

5. You can check using Search (sdfsd1! will be found on the sheets that have the new columns)

Slightly less painful than creating  6x40 columns one at a time.

Update:

If this happens more than once to the same 40 sheets, I would suggest looking at Zapier to do steps 3 & 4. It could be done with a single Zap. It would be easy to set up, if you know what you are doing, but not so easy if you don't. I don't mean the flippantly, I just mean I don't have time to fully document the process here but I have done it before and could do it again.

Two and half years later and we still can't copy columns.  Seems so basic.
