I am having trouble converting this excel formula =TEXT(C7,"mmm-yyyy") to the Smart
sheets equivalent. Can someone help me?

There currently isn't an equivalent to the TEXT function in Smartsheet. For a list of our available functions, check out our help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/functions
I may be able to offer more advice on how you can format your data with more information into what you're looking for.
