Default Symbol Labels

I am using standard symbols in a drop down box.  They have the default lables 'Yes, No, Hold'.  Is there a way to change these default labels within this sheet?

It depends on your level of permissions.

If you were not the person who created it and you are not the Licenced Administrator then no.

Only Owners and licenced Admins can change the structure of a sheet or column.

I am the Owner and Administrator.  I am using out of the box stop light RYG symbols.  These symbols have pre-defined labels, 'Yes, No, Hold'.  Is it possible to change these lables to something I desire for use on the sheet?

    Understood, Not to my Knowledge.

You could just use RYG without the internal symbols and have a Key to let people know what they mean or an additional column with a calculation that displays the value you want it to represent.

Sorry i cannot be of more help.

While you cannot change the terminology for symbols, you could choose different symbols that use the same colors.

Under Status, there are RYG balls which use "Red, Yellow, Green".

Also under Status there are RYG arrows which use "Down, Sideways, Up"

Under Direction there are RYG icons which use "Up, Unchanged, Down Change"

Another option is to use a Dropdown List with your custom terminology as predetermined values then set conditional formatting rules to change the cell text and background color to red, yellow, or green based on the selection.
