Different Paths in a Project

Hi There,

I'm working on setting up a generic project management tool for my team. When we're doing our projects we eventually have to decide whether to move a project in direction A or direction B. I'm wondering if there's a way to use one of the basic project with gantt and dependencies to manage this project  and have a point where we have to choose whether to go in direction A or B and then have the subsequent steps for that choice show up, while the steps for the path we did not choose become obsolete.

Thanks!

Katie

You have a project at at one point in your project, it could go two different directions with two different set of tasks?

Use hierarchies. Indent direction A and B under their own parent rows. When the time comes, choose which one direction you are taking, and link that group of tasks to the last task in your project (with predecessors). You can keep the other direction nested under the parent row or delete it.
