Dynamic Drop Down list

Hello!

As you have already seen in forums, many customers demand drop down lists, that uses master column as the list entires. Whenever you add a new entry, the list in all other sheets updates with this new item.

Do you have any other way to get this done, for example, external database linking or other solutions. We are willing to buiy enterpise version of Smartsheets if you can manage to solve this problem.

The non-database enviroment is not suitable for us. I will stay updated if you add dynamic dropbdown list and other features that we would need.

If any of you have a solution for this or you know how to link Smartsheet with a database then please write here or personal message.

Daynamic List updating from one sheet to many sheets has now been tested by us using an API and it works well and has many uses.

One of the nice added benefits is that the revised Dropdown list appears in SmartForms associated, so no need to revise your forms, it happens automatically.

This is a big time saver and adds to Data consistency but there is a cost, so users would need to be able to justify some budget. However most of thioe asking for this have been large corporates so we suspect a small cost will be acceptable?

Happy to demonstrate and discuss if anyone in the community wants to know more?

I also need this and do have the enterprise version. If this is not a feature that is going to be developed, does anyone have a work around?

Hi Tabitha, while we wait for Smartsheet to provide this functionality, there are a choice of ways to achieve this so we need to understand why and how this lack of functionality is affecting you and measure that against the available solutions.

Hi all,

Here is a workaround that gives you the possibility to use lists of information and choose from that list inside a sheet (doesn't work with mobile, only desktop)

I'm utilizing cell-linking for this workaround. The main sheet is linked to the dropdown/list sheet.
