Dynamic View

Hello - I reached out to Smartsheet a few times about Dynamic View as I want to see if it fits my needs. I didn't have a good experience with the Sales team. I had a meeting that was entirely missed. I was told an Engineer needs to be at the meeting as well.

I don't really understand why Dynamic View is locked away. But, yet, the features on it's list are pretty mum. Are they just overpriced features?

Smartsheet doesn't seem to be very friendly to small business' with these new premium features. I really don't know if Dynamic View will be worth it for us, or if we need to come up with other solutions to control our view data.

Does anyone have this? Does it work out for you? What is the pricing like? Sales was unable to give me a price.

I really wish Smartsheet would allow small business to use Control Center & Dynamic View. But, we keep being told it is not for us. How do we know this, if we can't try it out? They said no to a trial as well.

I went through the Smartsheet's certification. I have pushed Smartsheet to it's limits, and much of the content and features talked about in the Certification training are extra $$ premium features, that we cannot even have a "trial" on even with a demo account.

Dynamic View and Control Center are both rather pricey options. If you consider yourself a small business, I strongly recommend finding other workarounds simply because it would be extremely difficult to justify the cost.

Looking at it from a small business perspective, you would have to have it actively making you money (as opposed to just saving you money) to be able to even begin considering it.

Both of those features are built for large scale operations. You know those things that it would make easier for you? These two solutions in particular are built for those plans that have those same issues but manage to hundreds of users instead of just a few and are priced accordingly.

  • Is there a workaround for dynamic view? We need to be able to hide 3 columns so that only HR people can see them. Looking for an effective way of doing this without spending thousands of dollars. Thanks.

    Hi @jsenquiz80476

There might be a few different ways you could do this. What sort of permissions do the other users need to have?

Could you set up a Report based on the source sheet that only pulls the columns you want visible, and then publish this report so your users can see it without seeing the source sheet?
