i.e. exclude red from a SUM function, so all the red values are not added up

Hi Jamie, there isnt a function that can identify formatting. Is the text manually formatted or is it based on a conditional format? If it is based on a conditional format then its likely you can the same condition in a SUMIF formula.

If the text is manually formatted red, you could add a Checkbox column and check the boxes for the red rows then use a SUMIF to only sum the rows where the checkbox is not checked. Let me know if you need help with this formula.

    Jamie,

Taking Travis' suggestion one step further, if you are add the Checkbox column, you could use conditional formatting to set the appropriate cells red. This will save you a few clicks of the mouse when formatting.
