Export List of People a Sheet is Shared With?

Is there a way to export a list from a sheet that shows the user's security level? And if so, can this list be imported to a new sheet so that each team member does not have to be added manually to the new one?

This is not necessarily for a template that is used repeatedly. It is a group of about 150 people, various combinations are common for most projects that I track. This would save a huge amount of time if available. As it is now, I have to take screen shots, which seems very inefficient.

Even if it is not possible to apply the shared list to a new sheet, just having an Excel copy would prevent the need to take a screen shot of every five team members and would save time.

    Jess,

This might get you more than half-way there.

If you are  a SysAdmin, in the upper left under Account | User Management, there is a More Actions button

One of the actions is Download Sheet Access Report. This is a csv and can be imported straight into Smartsheet or opened in Excel/OpenOffice.

  • Craig,

Thanks a bunch! I chose the Download User List and it is exactly what I was looking for. Also, from that same screen it looks like you can import too. I am definitely going to play with that and see if I can get a spreadsheet to load. This will save me hours of busywork!

    Thanks again,

    Jess

    Jess,

    Glad I could help.

The list only shows sheets and reports that are in the account.

If you (personally) are shared to a sheet in another account, it won't show that.

  • All I care about are the sheets that I own that are shared with a set of users. If those users are reflected in that export, I am good to go. Is that what you mean?

    Jess.

The report will show what you are looking for then.
