Exporting Highlighted Rows to Excel

Ok, so I am not the one who has experienced this so bear with me as I explain it second hand. Users here have claimed that they used to be able to select a chunk of rows in a sheet and go up to the sheet options and export it to Excel and it would export only the highlighted rows. Now it exports the entire sheet.

After some troubleshooting and research it seems that the options to select exporting only highlighted rows are only on specific to certain types of exports (PDF as an example)

So I am wondering if there was a change or if the accounting department is from a different universe.....

Seriously though, its not like they are making this up. So how do you export only selected rows to Excel?

Perhaps they are msiing up Export to PDF and Export to Excel?

Yes,

We understand that we can use the selected rows options on a PDF, however we have always exported to excel. We have older exported excel documents that they claim were exported via the method described above.

So, is there any way to export ONLY the highlighted rows from a sheet to Excel?

There isn't a way to export selected rows to excel but I've got your vote down for this on our enhancement request list for further consideration.

I'd like to vote for this functionality too.

Also, why isn't there an option to export only selected columns as well, like there is when you email selected rows to someone?
