Feature Request: Alerts on Workspaces
I would like the ability to add the same Alert (Notification) to all sheets in a Workspace.
I copy a project workspace (about 8-12 sheets) and want to have them initially set to notify me of any changes right away.
Changing the frequency as the development progresses would be nice.
I tend to do this on a sheet by sheet basis as the contents and structure 'matures'.
But that initial global setup would be a time-saver.
I don't necessarily need to be able to copy Alerts, though I know there are instances where this is highly useful. That request has been made by others elsewhere.

Thank for the request! I'll add it to our list.
Just as a note, in the past (years ago) when a new sheet was created, notifications would automatically be turned on for all users shared to the sheet. This created unnecessary email for our users and the feedback we received, told us to turn this off by default.

"Turn off" implies that I should be able to turn it back on.
Instead, it sounds like the feature was disabled.
I would like to be abe to turn it on when I needed it (like copying a workspace of customer A to another division of customer A) but leave it off (by default) when I am working with different customers.

Feature Request: Workspace Level Notifictaion Menu Panel
Add to this, it could be quite useful to have something like a workspace level notification 'menu'. Meaning, if I click on notifictaions at the workspace level it will open a screen with a list of the sheets within the workspace in the left column. In the middle column it will show a checkbox for notifictions enabled for this sheet "yes/no". And in the third column it will show the short 'conditions' hyperlinks.
I see something like this as important, particularly if for some reason the complexity of notifictaion settings becomes higher
. Allow users to control all of their notifications within the workspace from one panel - rather than having to open sheet after sheet after sheet. -

Please add my vote to this feature addition request - notifications at the workspace level, or "Apply this notification to the selected (or all) sheets in this workspace".

Having functionality to allow global selections for workspaces like global alert preferences and update requests seems like a no-brainer to me.
For larger projects having lots of sheets, having to set alert preferences is tedious. The workspace owner have an option to set up to allow global preferences and then allow preferences on individual sheets to override them.
Individual users should also be able to set individual preferences. For example, an workspace owner may opt to send users a daily notice of comment alerts but an individual may want a real-time alert for certain sheets with high activity.

+1 for this thread. As a new user of Smartsheet with a potential deployment of a university wide application, this would be a critical function.
