History of emails sent for a row. Not Update requests.

I know how to retrieve history of emails sent to request updates. However, I need to be able to also see a history of just emails sent without requesting updates. Is that possible?

    Hi,

As far as I know, unfortunately, it isn't.

    I hope this helps you!

It can be done, but requires a third party integration and is not cheap to implement.

The problem (I believe) to email systems for use cases like this is that the easiest solution is at the point of receipt, not delivery (assuming that the tool, Smartsheet in the case, can not be set up to send to a dispatcher).

Unfortunately, relying on the recipient's email client to handle it also brings problems, especially if the email client is up to user preferences.

I stopped tracking all the ways that Smartsheet sends an email as rigorously as I used to, primarily because it seemed like the weren't using a common module to handle it, but recreating them for each new instance. This may have changed. But that  variety also runs into a challenge as each email needs to be setup to send to the proper location so the log can be generated.

This is one of the use cases, I believe, that would be supported by a change to how Groups are used for emails.

I have more to say, but will shut up for now.

    Craig

I have a couple of suggestions for you to consider?

If you are a 365 user then Using Teams within 365 can be useful in gathering all emails on a subject together, but as Craig has said this is based on the receiver rather than the sender. However, this benefit of 365 Teams is useful for many and worth exploring. We can show a demo if that helps?

The other idea is one that may be worth pursuing....

Our CRM only needs to be either BCC or cc'd to an email in order to file that email away in the most appropriate place. so, depending on what other 3rd party apps you are using that may be usable idea?

However, as Andre said, nothing in Smartsheet without some outside help.

    Good luck.
