Ignore Summary Task When Counting Late Tasks

I use the formula when counting late tasks: =IF(ISBLANK(Finish107), "", IF(AND(TODAY() > Finish107, [% Complete]107 < 1), 1, ""))

The issue with this is that it also counts summary tasks which really aren't tasks themselves. Is there a way to ignore summary tasks so I don't have to manually delete the formula in the cell in the Late Task column?

You could use the Children Function to only include children in the column.

That makes sense. Would I take out the ISBLANK and replace with Children? How would I start the formula?

Try this, I have not written a lot of formulas counting children, but this might work. Try putting it in your parent row, and then sum that column to get a total count.

=Countifs(Children(), (TODAY() > Finish107, Children(), [% Complete]107 < 1)

How would you Count the total tasks in a Column and still ignore the Summary Tasks? In this formula, I only get a single child in the first row.

=COUNT(CHILDREN({Avanade Onboarding Tasks Range 4}))
