Each member of my team have their own report, they all have the same columns as part of their report however, each person is in charge to update the information of only certain columns.

For example, if I have 4 columns name A, B, C and D and 4 reports each of them for 4 different people that are able to see the 4 columns. How can I make it possible that person1 is able to edit only column A  and not B, C and D (but be able to see the information on those columns as part of the report). And so on, person2 should be able to only edit column B but not A, C and D(but be able to see the information on those columns as part of the report). Person3 would be able to edit only column C but not column A, B and D(but be able to see the information on those columns as part of the report). Finally, Person 4 should be able to only update column D but not A, B and C (but be able to see the information on those columns as part of the report).

Is this anyhow possible?

Hi,

Unfortunately, it's not possible because locking the columns is done on the sheet so it would be the same for everyone. Permissions could help but because there are four different reports that wouldn't work either.

  • How many rows of information?
  • Do they have to see multiple rows in one view?
  • Are the rows static or are new rows added frequently?

Depending on your answers a workaround could be to use Update Requests instead, cell-linking or the premium add-on called Dynamic View.

Would any of those options work?

Have a fantastic week!

I was thinking dynamic view also.
