Metric Widget Column Header

I am trying to grab data from my dashboard metrics sheet in such a way that data is associated with the selected column header, as opposed to the actual column header. I am trying to use the Metric Widget like how I use the Chart Widget, but am getting results like in the screenshot, attached, where the heading I am looking to use is added as data under the column heading and the data I wan under the heading I am looking to use is added under the column heading also.

Instead of:

Metric 1: % Complete

Metric 1: 38%

I want

% Complete: 38%

This is easily accomplished utilizing the Chart Widget. Is this possible utilizing the Metric Widget?

Have you tried using multiple metrics widgets to pull individual data sets?

I am unsure what you mean; please elaborate. Do you mean to have many small widgets displaying the data in a key/value pair?

What I have resorted to doing is extending my metrics sheet and renaming the additional columns as the data name. So, renaming a column as "% Complete" and adding the data under that column. Far more work, but it will work.

How would your solution work?

Yes. I mean many small widgets. Although it seems as if you have already found a working solution. I generally end up using something very similar to your solution where I will build out a table using the data type/name as the column name.

Working solution, yes. The way the chart understands title/data is so elegant, I was hoping for similar functionality with the Metrics Widget.

I agree. The differences in how a chart vs a metric widget recognize data are very different. I generally avoid metric widgets as much as possible just because of how the data is recognized and displayed.
