Microsoft Office 365 ATP Safe Links issue

Hello Smartsheet Community,

Has anyone experienced issues with Office 365 threat protection scanning links when opening Smartsheet approval forms or update request forms sent from https://app.smartsheet.com.  See the Microsoft link below for an example of what our users are receiving.  Unfortunately, this has slowed down productivity because the scan can take up to 2 - 5 minutes before it will allow us to open and access the Smartsheet forms, which defeats the purpose of this wonderful capability designed in Smartsheet.  I know we can open within Smartsheet; however, a lot of our users are not always logged in to Smartsheet and are accessing the forms via email and the mobile app.

I have contacted our IT department and they say that smartsheet.com is already on the whitelist through Office 365 threat protection and it does not matter that the domain has (app.) in front of smartsheet.com.  Any answers would be appreciated as I have a presentation to management next week to highlight the wonders of Smartsheet.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi DeLeah,

Whitelisting the Smartsheet domain may not be enough to stop thread detection software from blocking emails.

Please have your IT department and have them add the smartsheet.com domain to your mail server whitelist to ensure your organization can receive emails from Smartsheet. The following relays should also be added to your organization's trusted sender list:

    - ord.relay.smartsheet.com

    - iad.relay.smartsheet.com

Just whitelisting the Smartsheet domain may not be enough to allow traffic from these relays.

I'd also recommend having your IT team explore whether they have any sort of email header blocking enabled—if they do, have them disable it.
