Is there a way to sum the duration of children rows?

Parent row - 20 days duration

    Child - 5 days duration

    Child - 10 days duration

    Child - 15 days duration

    LP,

Are you implying that 20 days is incorrect or correct?

If Dependencies are set in the Project Settings, the durations "roll up" and the number of days displayed is from the beginning of the group until the end.

If you have three tasks of 1 day each, for example,

The duration of the parent row is show duration from start (Jan 2) to finish (June 30) or 130 work days.

    Not effort (3 days)

20 days is incorrect. It is counting the range of the children tasks, when I need it to calculate the total number of days within all of the children tasks

    LP,

In Smartsheet, Duration is calendar time (in work-days).

If you want to calculate 30 from your example (or 3 from mine), you'll need to do that in a different column.

Something like this should work or get you close:

    =SUM(CHILDREN(Duration23))

where the Parent row is on row 23.

This should account for working hours and non-working days in your project settings.

    Craig
