Removing duplicate types in an output report

I have a report that shows the output of staff within a department. It shows all the publications and events they are working on. I am looking to build the report so that it does not show duplicates of the same type of output by the same person.

For example,

Staff member A is running 10 roadshow events throughout the year. There are ten entries of the roadshow with different event dates in the master event sheet assigned to this person. In this report, I only want to show one of these events per person.

I don't think this is possible, but thought I would ask the community to check.

  • Hello,

Reports will pull in all rows that meet the set report criteria. There currently isn't a way for reports to exclude any sort of rows that appear to be duplicates. Please submit a product enhancement request for this (using the form under Quick links on the right of the community site) to let our Product team know that you'd like to have this functionality added.

As a potential workaround, you may consider adding another column to your source sheets which contains a formula that flags the duplicates. You can then change your report criteria to only pull in the rows that haven't been flagged. Here's a prior community post which contains suggestions for how to build a "duplicate" spotting formula: https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/nested-if-statement-flagging-duplicates
