Removing Projects on an ongoing spreadsheet

Is there a way to have the projects on an ongoing spreadsheet be removed or moved to another location so the spreadsheet doesn't become cluttered?

By "projects" you're wanting move are you just talking about a row? If so, there a couple ways of doing it.

    1. In the row menu on the left side of the sheet there is an option to move the row to another sheet.

    2. If you have the sheet you wish to move a row or "project" to up top as a shortcut tab, you can click and hold the row number of the row you wish to move and drag it up onto that sheet tab at the top.

Both options will do exactly the same thing. I have one sheet of current, ongoing projects that I monitor and update. Once the project is complete I move it over to my "Archived List" which is identical to my current list when it comes to columns and layout. This way I still retain information from past projects but don't clutter up my current sheet that I look at regurlarly.

Note: When moving rows from one sheet to the other, any formulas you have will not carry over, only the values.

  • I have a Parent line of Old Projects and then move the Old project below this line and make it a child of the ol project line.

I can then collapse the line or expand to see it......

I do the same as Zac.   The columns of hte Current must be the same as the Archive.

  • If, however, you add a column to your current list, whenever you move a row to the archived list that new column will automatically be created. Fun fact. :)

If you are moving items to the bottom of the sheet for archiving, be aware that WebForms can be setup to add to top or bottom. If set to bottom, well, that screws up your archive. Or if it doesn't, you need to add your autofill formulas and formatting to the odd data.

Neither likely a big deal, but possible annoyances.

I move old projects to templates (don't count as sheets)  and archive with the other project documentation.
