Request - Allow Webform to update a specific row number

Hi,

I would like to request the ability to enter a row number on a webform.

And when the form is returned or submitted by the user. The information on the form is automatically filled into the specified row.
I know contact names are entered as text and cannot be linked with the sheet, but maybe a row id is easier to incorporate?

I'm also aware that i can send update requests to individual contacts. But the ability to send them a form that they can fill in with the relevent details and it autofills back into a specific row on my sheet template would be very useful.

Many thanks

Scott, the auto-number column can be used to automatically display a unique number on each row. This number isn’t visible when filling out a web form but you could send the row to the user after they submit the form and the row would contain the unique ID.

Travis, I was trying to also use the auto-number in conjunction with the web forms.  I realized the data is not available on the forms and saw the blog regarding this functionality. So I created a column with a formula to copy the data from the auto-number column, then created another web form for the spreadsheet so that it would open after the previous form is submitted. Thus addressing the initial challenge of the number not being available until after the row is created & the fact that the auto number is not visable forms. I was thinking that the next form would reference a drop down of the available numbers that were auto generated so that the information would be associated with that row...but I cannot figure out how to populate a drop down with a changing data set and have it associated with that number as a child row...is this possible?
