I have set up an estimating log, which is populated by web form, we are currently experiencing issues where certain rows of data are being populated between 2 - 20 rows below the last entry has anyone else experiencing this issue and can advise how solve the issue?

Christan - Web form entries are added to the next NEW row, not necessarily the next BLANK row. If a row has had data at some point and the data was deleted, it will be a BLANK row, not a NEW row and web form submissions will not be added to it. Deleting these BLANK rows will ensure the next available row is a NEW row.

  • I've had the same issue, but we are not deleting any data. There seem to be 10 blank rows in between entries, some are in between 1 entry the others like 2-3 web frm entries before the gap appears again. What can I do to stop this? I have tried deleting the rows but it is still happening again and again on new entries?

If someone (editor) has a filter applied to the sheet while people are responding to our forms cause the issue?

  • Hi All,

Hoping to bump this up, I am getting gap rows too.

  • From what I can tell, this has been a known issue for a long time.  Why is it not resolved yet?  It is a pain in the neck to have to delete blank rows all the time.  It makes me concerned that there was actually data that didn't get saved in the rows.

  • Same problem with me. I try to delete every row after the last row but still there is a gap. My biggest issue is my formula on the last row was not copied to the new entry. This is very a big issue to us since we encounter data discrepancy from time to time due to this bug. Smartsheet team kindly look into this. As you can see in the picture below I have a "Auto-Number" Column. If this has a data there should be a value in cells. And as you will notice, the sequence is 6618 to 6619 that justify my case.
