Is there a way to select specific columns for displaying on alerts?  Currently all columns display on the alert including a column that I have for my own use.

Thanks,

jerry

Not for alerts, but if you set up notifications, you can by customizing the email. Please Submit this as a Product Enhancement Request.

    Clarification:

There are two types of ALERTS:

Notifications - which send an email based on changes. The email sent contains selected data and can be customized for how often the email is sent and what is contained in it (ie the columns, attachments, comments.

Mike is correct. Notifications can be customized for which columns are displayed.

Reminders - which send an email based on date, either fixed or based on Date column. This type of alert only sends an email (of which the body can be customized). No columns/data is sent so the question of if the columns can be customized is moo.

I submitted a Product Enhancement Request.  I wouldn't think that this would be difficult functionality to add.  Having said that..... I experimented with a test sheet.  I suspected that if I hid all the columns except for the columns that I want to appear on my Alert-Reminder only the unhidden columns would show on the reminder.  This worked perfectly.  The disadvantage is that whenever I want to view the other columns for update purposes I must unhide them.  When finished my updates, I would have to rehide the columns that I don't want to show on the reminder.
