Set up Review Request button grayed out in proofing

I'm giving the new proofing tool a try, and am stuck.

I've enabled proofing on a sheet that I created in a workspace with numerous users with different levels of permissions, and have uploaded and made a couple pinned notations on an image (I have not yet @mentioned anyone). However, the button for Set up Review Request is grayed out and cannot be clicked.

What am I missing?

    Hi Deirdre,

    Strange!

What's your account type and permission level?

Have you tried it on another sheet?

Can you maybe share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

    Hope that helps!

    Have a fantastic weekend!

We've got an enterprise level account, and I'm a Workspace admin and the sheet owner. I created this sheet specifically to try out proofing, so there's nothing else going on with the sheet itself: no automation, for example.

I've added a screenshot to the original post, which is cropped to not show unreleased art, but you can see that I've been able to drop a pin and that the button is grayed out.

I'll certainly try again with another file and then with another sheet, but this is about as vanilla as it gets, so it struck me was weird.

    ...

Edited to add: I should mention the file was a png image. I just did another test with a jpg and it worked fine.

    ...

Edited again: Mystery solved: I've figured it out! The row was locked, which I don't recall doing, but unlocking it made the Set up Review Request button available again. Good info for others, I imagine!

  • Hi Deirdre! I'm the product manager for proofing and so glad you are trying it out! Glad you were able to solve this problem. We just want to make sure that when a row is locked no one can take action on the proof. It's a nice way to put the proof on hold. Let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Hi Brian! That makes perfect sense to me now, and seems reasonable: I just wasn't looking out for it, so I missed it. We're excited about this new tool and looking forward to exploring it more. Thanks!
