Hi - We have the "hide" feature enabled in a few calendars within the SmartSheet Calendar app. We've accidentally hid a few tiles that need to be displayed on the calendar, but I can't figure out how to undo "hide" once it's been clicked for a particular event. Has anyone figured out how to unhide something in SmartSheet calendar?

    Hi Laura,

It sounds like you have a filter applied to your calendar. If so, you'll want to select the filter button at the top of the calendar to edit the applied filter.

If needed, more information on this can be found here under Step 5: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476776-keep-teams-organized-smartsheet-calendar-app#basic

  • Did you ever figure out how to unhide an event?

Alejandra - I didn't set a filter to hide events, I just clicked hide when I opened the event details. When I go to my filters, I can only set a filter for the events that aren't hidden - I don't even see the hidden event in the list.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to unhide an event!

@JFarrell it turns out that when the Hide button is clicked the date value is deleted from the sheet. You'll have to add the date value back to get the item back. I highly encourage you to submit a Product Enhancement Request if you have any feedback.

Thanks @Alejandra - I was having the same problem as JFarrell earlier.

PROs - as the date values are the only ones that are removed from the sheet, you can still go to the source sheet to add the date and the tasks will appear in the calendar app.

CONs - not going to be using HIDE button! Filter seems a better option.

I have submitted PER on this. It would be nice to have "unhide" feature somewhere 😀

This Hide function is very misleading and not useful since it does not hide at all but deletes the dates for the item. It is nonsensical to have this ability even execute this function to the calendar app in this way. If it were to be enhanced or useful it should actually hide it with a method of unhiding within the original sheet or on the calendar app. If the intention was to just omit the date entries it would be more logical to at least highlight the date change in its cell or give a Hide Prompt alerting so...

On a more helpful note you can right click the missing date to "View Cell History" so to recover the impractical Hide function. However you have to figure out which is missing the date if they were all filled out to begin with. Best of luck!
