Hi everyone!

Im having issues with a status column. My goal is to update the status if a job has hit 10 days or more and has not been approved yet. I was going to trigger it by using the (system column) "Last Modified" 

Here's the problem: If someone only "views" the sheet & doesn't make any updates, every single row in the sheet updates as if it were modified. 

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using the TODAY() function in a formula in all of those rows?

Ahh... yes, I am. That's the culprit:) I knew there was something within the sheet causing chaos!

Any thoughts on a work around?

Here is my suggestion...


Approver column is Contact type.

Add Date type column.


Change workflow from Approval to Update Request and send the contact and date columns. Approver enters their name and the approval date.


Set workflow to run based on the submission date column being 10 days in the past with a condition of the approval date column being blank.

Another option could be the third-party service, Zapier. It's an excellent option for this scenario. Is that an option for you?
