As an event planner I need to assign start and end times i.e. 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. to  meetings and tasks that need to be completed. 

I can obviously type in the times, but they do not sort correctly as anything starting with a "1" regardless of AM or PM will shoot to the top. I can put a "0" in front of any AM times, such as 09:00 AM, but things gets mixed up with you get to the hours that begin with a "1".

Is there any workaround to this or any function I'm missing? Is there any move in the future to include a 24 hour gantt chart of sorts?

Is it always the same time periods? Like 9am-3pm, 10am-4pm and so on?

I would suggest taking the time you are trying to sort on and converting it to a 24 hour format. Then you can sort on that conversion. If you are trying to keep the 12 hour time with AM and PM, you can do the conversion in a helper column, hide it, then sort on the helper.

Time format column options are supposedly in-the-works... though there's no word on when we'll see it yet.

It's in the works, and I hope that it will get released before Engage. I can't wait! I got so many clients that would have a use for this.



I know they are working on some things that have to do with time. I feel like since it is such a popular request, they will probably save the big announcement for their Engage conference if it is ready by then.
