Love the new image feature. Can you view images through the movbile app? Also, can you upload an image to a sheet through the mobile app?

Thanks,

Ryan

IT doesn't seem like this feature works at all in Mobile.  You can't view the image in moble app.  You can't make a webform with a column/Field for images and then a pic an image from your phone.  So likely not that valuable to construction and others.

Smartsheet - really need to start making new updates work in both mobil and desktop.  This featuer, filtering......  takes create features but they really are only slight an enhancement because it ignores all the mobile users.

After some tests, it is actually worse to use this feature for mobile applications, unless my tests are flawed.  Seems that you are better still uploading photos as an attachement because then when mobile your team at least can down load the attachment.  With this feature it just shows the date stamp when an image is uploaded into a cell.  So mobile users can't use it all likely not as big a feature for construction applications then.

Its a shame they ignore the mobile market with the featuer enahncements.

While this is a tiny feature in the scope of items users have requested, I would have used in a couple areas.  But, considering you cannot see the image on mobile devices means I will never use it.  Also, it seems Web Forms could have benefited from this feature by having the symbols actually show as images, rather than numbers.

Hi Everyone - thanks for all the feedback! We understand users want to view and add images to the grid from their mobile devices. This functionality was ready for the desktop app which is why we included it in our latest release but the mobile team still has a little bit of work to do - we did not want to ship an unfinished feature.

While I dont have an exact date to expect this, we are close and it will be coming in the near future.

I spoke with the head of the Mobile team today and he said, "It'll be screaming fast and nicely integrated with the camera!"

Thanks for the thoughts and sorry that the mobile apps are trailing behind the desktop on getting this shipped.  We've been working hard and are very nearly there, and just getting the final testing and polish done on the new iOS & Android releases.  In testing today a 2 year old iPhone was able to easily load a sheet with 5000 rows * 20 columns of images and scroll & zoom fluidly.  Android is similarly fast and smooth, so we're confident that things will not only look good at first, but will keep working beautifully as your sheets grow.  We're super-excited about images in the mobile app and will get them to just as quickly as we can!

When do we think we will have this feature?   After all been waiting for being able to filter in mobile app for years now.

Hi Gary, this will be in your hands within a few weeks.  It is very nearly done at this point.  I hear you on the filters - they're definitely on the roadmap and we've done a lot of the work that will be required to get them enabled on mobile.  But they won't be shippable in just a few weeks.  Enabling filtering on mobile is way more work for us than it might appear, because we had to build a rich mobile data model and calculation engine to make them work without repeatedly downloading the whole sheet, which would be unusably slow.  We've got nearly all of that plumbing in place on both iOS and Android and you'll start seeing things like in-place editing, filtering, moving rows, indent / outdent, and so on appearing later this year.  But first, you'll see images in the grid!

Hi Gary, viewing and attaching images to the grid is now available for Android and will be released shortly for iOS.

As Travis said, the Android app is available in both Play and the Amazon Android store now.  The iOS app was just released a few minutes ago and as soon as it propegates through Apple's servers will be available on the App Store.  I know it's already there on at least some App Store servers now, so it will be available very soon for you if it isn't already.  We're really excited to get this release into your hands!

I have tested the functionality of the android app with attachments and discussions.  It works rather well, and as long as you're refreshing your sheets it is in quick time.
