What would changing the width of the form do for you? I am just courious to see if this would also help me. We use alot of web forms and are always looking to improve them.

Hello Thank you for your question. I use web forms a lot for surveys. When I need to use radio buttons (horizontal) some of the buttons are displayed in a second line and the form does not look nice.

I could use vertical radio buttons or dropdown list but then the survey form either becomes too long or is confusing to the surveyed customers.

What we did to resolve this was to make a formula column in the sheet that pulled multiple columns together. Make the web form data more consolidated and less need for more options. When drop down list is used three or four items are picked at once. Nice long single line.

Thank you,

Now that you mention it, I am thinking that I can explain in the description field what each button means then the buttons can only be labeled as A – B – C and so on or I can use numbers instead.

I need at least five different options so my customers can qualify my service as poor all the way up to excellent.  Please see attachment.  In this form if I add another buttom, it will display in another line and that is what I am trying to avoid. I hope I am making sense.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Hi Mario, whilst the web form capability in Smartsheet is great, for more comprehensive forms options and layout flexibility, consider using one of the third party tools that integrate with Smartsheet or others that don't but can be made to talk to Smartsheet via eg Zapier.

Peter brings up a good suggestion. We have an integration with Google Forms that allows you to build a form in Google Forms and have the entries added to a sheet. Check out this page on the integration and watch the video which coincidentally uses a customer satisfaction survey as an example.

Thank you everyone. This is great! I have been playing around with the forms in SS but I was not too happy with my surveys. I think I will try the interaction with google forms

This community discussion is a great idea! I am loving it every minute more and more.Laughing
