Webform Attachment and Upload not working

Hi

We have recently had a client who said they successfully uploaded an attachment via the webform, however we have not received it.

Are there any known issues around this? We have a hundreds of rows with attatchments and I worry that perhaps we have maxed out somehow?

Cheers

It's perfectly working for me. I don't know what the problem was, but it's hard to prove anything later - unless the sender requests a copy of the responses (the form confirmation email conists the name and type of the files uploaded).

  • Hi Luisa,

I haven't had any other users report issues with Web Form submissions, so this sounds like an isolated incident. There are two troubleshooting steps I suggest when form entries appear to be missing:

    1. When new rows come in via web form, they're generally inserted at the bottom of the sheet. Be sure to scroll all the way down to see if the web form submissions appear here.

    2. If you're still not seeing them, you may have a filter applied to the sheet which could be hiding the new rows from view. Please try right-clicking any column's header and selecting "Remove all Filters" if the option is available to see if this brings the missing

    rows into view.

If you still aren't able to locate the form entries, the form may not have been successfully submitted. In the Form Options window, you can Enable a Confirmation Email. If you have users who believe that they submitted a form successfully but you're consistently not seeing these entries in your sheet, I'd suggest enabling this option and making sure they receive an email after their submission. This indicates that the data was captured successfully.

Just for your reference, if your sheet ever hits our current maximum sheet size of 5,000 rows, we'll prevent any Web Forms on that sheet from accepting submissions and send you an email letting you know you've hit the limit so you can go into the sheet and move or delete rows as needed.

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Turns out the row was located right down the bottom. The webform had been incorrectly set up, we had the  reference number missing (so we couldn't find it when we searched for it) and the notification column was not set up to notify that someone had uploaded something. Unfortunately, these two little mistakes meant that we were under the impression and issue much greater was occurring.

We have fixed up these issues, and now that we are aware of them they will become part of our QA checks prior to panicking that the webform uploads are lost in internet limbo.

    Thanks!
