It is already possible to populate a Date column with a Column Formula and then convert it to a Cell Formula, and then use that column as the Start/End for Gantt view / Project Settings, so the issue is not the formulas in the Date column. So why does converting it back to a Column Formula for some reason no longer work for this purpose? Given it works with Cell Formulas, I am entirely confused as to why this should not work with Column Formulas.

Please make Smartsheet smarter by enabling this functionality.

(I know that using a Report can be a workaround, but Reports have limited functionality and flexibility relative to Sheets, so this is a significant usability issue for us. Also, if it works in Reports, why can't it work in Sheets?)

As a workaround, we colored the entire column in the source sheet, which seemed to work initially. But then we realized that conditional formatting to change the cell color in blank cells was still not working.

I already posted this in Get Help, and there were workarounds suggested but no real solution. I am requesting Dynamic View be improved so that this bug doesn't occur. Thanks!

ex. Audit Form is for ensuring batch numbers match from 2 items. If the operator enters a batch that doesn't match, we would like them to be aware immediately rather than waiting for an email notification. 

For example, if an Automation is set to send to Alan,Ben & Charles

When Alan open there email, they will see the email was sent to them; they will not see that the email was also sent to Ben & Charles

I find this really frustrating, as it would be MUCH easier for users to see that the email was also raised to others, and to keep a clear email chain of who is involved in a conversation.

SmartSheets correctly shows all recipients when a File is sent via the "Send As an Attachments" but does not correctly do this for Automations. Please could we have the option to change this, or toggleon/off if all users an email was sent to are shown?

I'd like to submit a feature request for an Automation Run History or Execution Log for all workflow types — specifically for Alert, Notification, Reminder, Copy Row, and Move Row automations.

🔍 Current Limitation

Right now, Smartsheet only provides:

• A "Last Run" timestamp in Manage Automation Workflows (but no details on who received it)
• A dedicated log for Update Requests (which is great — we'd love this for other automation types too!)
• Activity Log — which tracks sheet edits and automation modifications, but does not show each time an automation was triggered or who received the notification

This makes it difficult to:

• Verify whether an alert or notification was successfully sent
• Audit which recipients received a specific automation
• Troubleshoot issues without contacting Smartsheet Support
• Determine why a Move Row or Change Cell Value automation did not execute as expected

A dedicated Automation Run Log accessible per workflow, showing:

Ideally, this would be accessible from Manage Automation Workflows by clicking into a specific workflow — similar to how Bridge by Smartsheet provides step-by-step run logs.

1. Alert & Notification Verification - In our team, we use automation to notify team leads and agents when a new evaluation or exception request is submitted. When a recipient reports not receiving a notification, we currently have no native way to verify whether the automation fired or who it was sent to — making troubleshooting very manual and time-consuming.

2. Move Row & Change Cell Value Troubleshooting - When a Move Row or Change Cell Value automation doesn't behave as expected, there is currently no way to determine:

• Whether the automation was triggered at all
• Whether the trigger condition was evaluated but not met
• Whether the action was attempted but failed silently
• What specific row, field, or value was involved at the time of execution

This leaves users guessing — checking trigger conditions, permission settings, and sheet structure manually — with no clear starting point for troubleshooting. A run log with a skip or failure reason would significantly reduce the time spent diagnosing these issues.

• Reduces dependency on Smartsheet Support for basic troubleshooting
• Supports audit and compliance needs for teams using Smartsheet for operational tracking
