Unable to move cards in board view

Hey

I´m currently using smartsheet in my company, but something curious is happening.

For some reason, we are not able to move cards in board view, but in card view we don´t have the same issue.

It is not a big issue if we consider that we can just use the card view, nevertheless, board view is kind of prefered for some users.

Do you have any idea why is this happening?

One of my team members is also experiencing this issue. As an admin on the sheet, I can move cards between lanes in Board view. My team member has editor permissions and until recently could move cards in Board view. However, now she is unable to and has to switch to Card view to move them. Did something change with Board view to make this feature not work?

Hi @Isabelle_Fisher_1!

You are correct! In order to reorder cards within a lane or move cards across lanes in Board view, you need to have at least Editor permissions on the sheet. You can find more information on this here: Board view and sharing permissions.

Depending on your sheet’s needs, you can also switch between Board and Card views to complete your work. This article may be helpful for understanding the differences between views: Board view versus card view.

I also tested this on my side and was able to move cards across lanes in Board view with Editor permissions. With that in mind, I’d suggest having your team member try signing out and back in, as well as following the steps outlined here: Issue: Smartsheet is continuously loading, not responding, or not displaying certain items.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, the best next step would be to contact our Support Team so they can review the situation further through a private channel.
