I have a task I want to track that lasts the duration of each project. However, since the start/end dates can't be formulas, I'm wondering if there's another way to set this up in my template?
I want to view the timescale in weeks but I am having a hard time distinguishing the week gridlines (weeks are too weak!) Any way to make these less subtle? The "by day" timescale has banded colours, at least for weekend days. Is there a way to band the weeks or months to also help visually distinguishing periods? (I mean…
In a new sheet I'm creating the Gantt view background cell color (not the task bar) is dark blue making it very difficult to read anything. I can't see any option to change this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks
There are 2 tasks which I am trying to show in the critical path: "Customer waiting to get approval for VA" and "Virtual Appliance Download..." I set the target dates, have the predecessors. What else do I need? I can see the critical path for the prior tasks. Please see the attached grid and gantt pics.
When I try to add one particular contact that I added to my contacts list to the Assigned To field on a Gantt chart, it won't display the Name... just the person's full email address. This is only happening for this one contact - the rest are fine. I did some troubleshooting and if I edit the email address with a dummy…

It seems that the scale of Gantt chart is dependant on the widest date format in its particular heading. Quite often, and in this case, the horizontal scale is fixed to the format of the secondary…
The option should also include to open to: • start of this week/month/quarter/year • x days/weeks/months/quarters/years ago Having the Gantt chart open up to an earlier period will help to get a feel for the current trends. When you are more familiar what happened over the last couple of periods (you lived through them)…
I know I'm being stupid, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the end date of a Gantt chart I've created. Dependencies are enabled.
I can see that I can change the colour of the whole task bar in conditional formatting but I only want to change the colour of the progress part for the whole sheet. Any ideas?
Is there any way to format the Gantt portion of my view/print? I need to adjust (narrow) the width of the Gantt columns so my chart fits on one page. Also, it would be great to be able to adjust the direction of the column titles (Jan, Feb, etc.) to display vertically, so I can narrow the columns quite a bit. I would also…
