setting up a conditional deroulant menu

Hello every ones, I'm using smartsheet for a professional project and I've got a size problem: I've got n "source" file; the inventory, in the inventory, each machine has its own tag, an equipment class (selectable from a list of equipment classes in a drop-down menu). There's also a "logbook" sheet where people log in to enter the activities they've carried out on such and such a machine, and a "machine tag" drop-down menu where they enter the TAG of the machine they've worked on. The problem is that the choice of machines is too wide, so I decided to add a drop-down menu to the "equipment class" column in this sheet, as in the inventory.) the aim is as follows, the person entering the activity chooses the type of equipment he has worked on (equipment class), depending on the type of equipment he has entered, then the list of tags will be reduced to this type of equipment, the choice of machine tag will then be smoother in view of the reduced number of tags, how to do it?

I've done my homework, but it seems to me that smart sheet doesn't offer a direct option for this. There's always the option of using another program like Zapier or Workato, but I'd rather not. 

If anyone has a solution I'd love to hear from you :)

• You could use a form and the Form Logic feature.
• Another option could be to use multiple columns for each Class selection and combine it with a message shown and Conditional Formatting to instruct the user how to proceed.

Make sense?
